Such a car does not violate the rules and drives strictly within the speed limit. But as it turned out, this is its main problem. If only automatic vehicles drove on the road, there would be no questions, but in neighboring cars there are people behind the wheel who do not always adhere to the speed limit. For these purposes, the creators of the Google self-driving car programmed it to violate traffic rules. This violation is expressed in the ability to exceed the speed limit by 16 km/h. This is necessary in order not to create obstacles in traffic moving above the normalized speed.

The prototype of the car continues to be tested, and to date its mileage is more than one million kilometers on public roads. In total, 200 cars will be built to refine the technology.

Recall that the car will be two-seater and equipped with an electric motor. The maximum speed so far is 40 km/h.
