This is not the first record for the blind 52-year-old businessman. Previously, he set a record of 299 km/h in a Porsche 911. The event took place at a racetrack in Leicestershire. The latest achievement was reached on the runway of Elvington Airfield in North Yorkshire, located in the United Kingdom.

The car in which the speed record was set is a special, custom-built Nissan GT-R, its engine

During the runs, Newman drove the car himself but received instructions via an audio device in the car. A total of four runs were conducted in two opposite directions. The average speed of all attempts was 323.2 km/h.
