One of these is the Holden Ute. Truly, this is a marvel of engineering. Imagine a car whose front end is borrowed from a premium model, and the rear from a truck. A sort of premium pickup, and with a six-liter V8 producing 349 hp. For express cargo delivery?

But for advanced Australian farmers, even such power might not be enough?! Probably, for them, the HSV studio (factory division) is going to build an even more powerful modification. Although no, we didn't express ourselves quite correctly, not more powerful... Australians want to release the most powerful pickup in the world. After building the car, they also plan to break the world speed record for production vehicles with this body type. True, they will have to break their own record. After all, eight years ago it was Holden that set the previous record figure.

The HSV R8 Maloo pickup in 2006 reached a speed of 271.44 km/h. Before it, the record belonged to the Dodge Ram SRT-10, whose top speed was 248.78 km/h.

The new pickup will be named GTS Maloo. It will be fitted with an eight-cylinder 6.2-liter supercharged engine from Chevrolet. A similar engine is in the Chevrolet Camaro. The gearbox will be either manual or automatic.

The power of this unit is still being kept quiet. But it is known that the additionally charged version will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds, and the top speed will be 280 km/h.

Holden dealers plan to receive the HSV GTS Maloo for sale by the end of the year. Its price will be approximately $85,000. This will be the most expensive pickup ever sold on the Australian market. But considering that production will be limited to 150 units, the price can be considered quite reasonable.
