First of all, this applies to car brands. German companies have already noted a decrease in demand in the Russian market. Ukraine has also had an indirect impact on this. In addition to the restrictive measures introduced against Russia in connection with the events in our country, Ukrainians are the main buyers of cars produced in the Russian Federation.
Due to the decrease in sales of new cars in Ukraine and a significant drop in the export volumes of Russian cars, the local market, according to forecasts, will lose from 14 to 17 percent.
Automotive expert Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer notes that BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz are experiencing the least difficulties. But Opel and Volkswagen will likely not fulfill their sales plans, as they are already facing difficulties. Renault, KIA, and also Hyundai, which have production in Russia, may also be hit by the sanctions.
