The initial construction estimate was $1.4 billion, but according to the latest calculations, the crossing will now require $5.6 billion.
These figures are given in the draft concept of the federal target program "Socio-Economic Development of the Crimean Federal District until 2020". The allocation of these funds is planned for the period from 2015 to 2019.
The construction of the crossing, combining railway and road communication, is called a "geostrategic task" in the document.
